About Family Council
Generations Forward is led by the Family Council, a group of parents and families whose expertise comes from their lived experience. The Family Council works in collaboration with partner organizations and local families to set priorities, build relationships, and facilitate family-centered projects and events. The Council meets about twice a month.
The Family Council currently has three Family Champions: Keith Montoya Lewis (he / they), Stevona Burks (she / her), and Johni Gibson (she/her). Family Champions facilitate Family Council meetings, support the Council in their work, and create and maintain connections with Generations Forward partners.
If you are a parent or caretaker of children and are interested in joining Family Council, please contact us to learn more. Stipends for Family Council members are provided.
Local and National Partners
Generations Forward is co-sponsored by the Whatcom County Health Department and the Opportunity Council, who offer fiscal support and infrastructure. We partner with local family-led organizations and initiatives, including Whatcom CARE. Click on the logos below to learn more.
If you are a part of a family-led effort and would like to connect, please reach out to us.
We also work in tandem with several national networks working to support children and families: The Networks of Opportunity for Child Wellbeing (NOW), and Building Community Resilience (BCR). Click on their logos to learn more.
